Your current consent choice
The site remembers your consent in a first-party cookie called psyrx_consent. If you haven't chosen yet, the consent banner shows at the bottom of the page. If you have, use the button below to change your mind:
What runs before you choose
One thing runs regardless of your consent choice, because the site cannot operate without it:
- Consent choice cookie (
psyrx_consent). Records whether you accepted or rejected analytics. Written only after you press a button on the consent banner. Not a tracker.
What runs only if you accept
Google Analytics 4 runs only if you press "Accept analytics" on the consent banner. When enabled, Google Analytics sets the cookies below.
Every cookie and storage item, in one table
| Name | Category | Set by | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
psyrx_consent |
Strictly necessary | psychiatryrx.org | Records your consent choice so the banner doesn't reappear on every page. | 365 days |
_ga |
Analytics (opt-in) | Google Analytics 4 (via psychiatryrx.org) | Distinguishes users so Google Analytics can count unique visitors. | 2 years |
_ga_M19ZBBKCLG |
Analytics (opt-in) | Google Analytics 4 (via psychiatryrx.org) | Stores per-session state for the specific Google Analytics property. The suffix is the container id. | 2 years |
savedPages (browser local storage, not a cookie) |
Strictly necessary | psychiatryrx.org | Remembers pages you bookmarked on the site. Stays on your device only. Never sent to a server. | Until you clear browser storage |
consent-dismissed (browser local storage, not a cookie) |
Strictly necessary | psychiatryrx.org | Legacy dismissal flag from earlier disclosure banners, if present in your browser. Safe to clear. | Until you clear browser storage |
If you reject analytics, only psyrx_consent and the two local-storage items above are ever written. The two _ga* cookies are never set. The Google tag still loads on the page (so it can react if you later change your mind), but it operates in Google's Consent Mode "denied" state and sends no identifiable data.
Third-party requests, even when analytics is denied
Two hostnames may still be contacted by your browser regardless of consent, because the Google tag itself lives on Google's CDN:
www.googletagmanager.com(script host for Google's tag loader)www.google-analytics.com(Google Analytics endpoint, contacted only in Consent Mode "denied" state until you accept)
These requests carry no cookies until you accept analytics. Once you accept, standard Google Analytics 4 cookies are set as described above.
What we do not use
- No advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking pixels (no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight, no X pixel).
- No behavioral re-targeting.
- No Google Signals (Google Analytics' cross-device / cross-site tracking feature).
- No
_gidor_gat(those were used in older Google Analytics; GA4 doesn't set them). - No fingerprinting.
